| MugToGo holders use the same amount of paper as traditional coffee sleeves. Coffee shops can use lighter and less expensive paper cups with our holders.
MugToGo holders are fully recyclable and compostable.
Coffee sleeves are made from heavily processed corrugated material, and although they contain post-consumer fiber ("PCF"), the corrugated industry uses extensive resources to generate corrugated medium.
MugToGo eliminates the need for drink trays or bags to carry several cups of coffee, reducing the overall consumption of paper. They work with lighter cups, reducing the use of paper. MugToGo holders work with cups which use high PCF content.
Paper cups weight an average of 12g (12oz), 14g (16oz) and 16g (20oz). MugToGo holder weights 6g. The overall eco-impact for "cup with sleeve" or "cup with the holder" combination needs to be determined by examining the entire set, since we don't use sleeves or holders without cups.
Paper cups need to be strong to withstand forces of normal use. High percentage of PCF softens the paper, and cups of a high eco- value tend to be very expensive due to the manufacturing issues.
MugToGo introduces new functionality and converts paper cups into mugs. Since all forces concentrate at the handle, the strength of a paper cup is no longer required. As a result, lighter cups with higher PCF can be used.
MugToGo offers a much more eco-friendly solution as compared to any sleeves. Since we can use 15% lighter cups, it represents 30% to 40% savings in weight of 6g MugToGo holder.
